Sugarbug Pediatric Dental Clinic
MN Office
The dazzle supergraphic in Sugarbug is drawn from 20th century ship painting techniques. The complex patterns of geometric shapes and contrasting colors act as a unique form of camouflage, that rather than conceal, make the ship’s range, speed, and direction difficult to perceive. When deployed as overarching element in this active setting, it strategically flattens core and shell, rooms, furniture and equipment, into an immersive spatial experience. It hopes to offer a novel outlook on the typically sterile aesthetic associated with the dental clinic and engage the imagination and curiosity of its young constituents. The representation through digital animations and a physical object seek to maintain this ethos, and invite viewers to engage from different vantage points, scales, and media.
