The Death of the Westwood Pink Building
Home to the University of California, Los Angeles Extension Administration, 10995 Le Conte (age unknown) was situated at the edge of the Westwood Village, near the In-n-Out.
Over the course of the 2018-2019 academic year, the life of the 10995 Le Conte was sadly brought to an end.
During its lifetime, 10995 Le Conte brought effortless joy to many. Its pale pink walls softened its brutalist appearance while complementing the Los Angeles sunsets.
Its architecture was often photographed by the UCLA design community, and its angel wing mural made for an unexpected opportunity for Westwood influencer-types.
10955 Le Conte is survived by two pink buildings, 710 Westwood Plaza and 947 Tiverton Avenue, whose passing is imminent.
While we are unable to hold a proper service for 10955 Le Conte due to the quick and tragic nature of its passing, we encourage those who wish to stop by the site and pay their respects.
10955 Le Conte, you were taken from us too soon, but we will always carry your memory in our hearts.
